Missy Goldberg has never gotten over the loss of the title role in the 1984 television series Punky Brewster. A heated debate between her and Soleil Moon Frye (the real Punky) has been raging for over a decade.
When Goldberg was shafted from Brewster, she managed to convince executives at ABC to hire her for the network's Saturday-morning pre-cartoon clan AM Posse. Sporting a similar hairstyle and windjacket, Goldberg infamously became the poor-man's Punky Brewster.
Even to this day Goldberg can't let it go. ABC executives recently canned Goldberg's pitch to mount a reality show in which she and Moon Frye compete for the ultimate title of America's Last Denim Superstar.
